From Yarn to Rug
  1. A drawing is made of the possible design.  Usually the design is filled in with colored pencils.
  2. A scale drawing is made on graph paper.
  3. The amount of yarn needed for each color is estimated, and the skeins are weighed, washed, and dyed.
  4. The design is again reviewed along with the dyed wool.  Sometimes colors are changed.
  5. Weaving is completed.
  6. When the piece comes off the loom, the ends are needle-woven back into the body of the piece.
  7. A hanging board is made so that the piece can be displayed on the wall, if desired.
  8. Pricing is by the square foot.
